About the Author

Growing up in a relatively large family (4 sisters, 1 brother), Nacie (Nadine) Mackey relied on reading books for much needed escape. Around the age of twelve, she discovered the works of Jane Austen and was immediately captivated.

“She [Miss Austen] was a master of insinuation without actually having to state what one of her character’s might be thinking or feeling. She made my imagination work overtime in the most engrossing ways.”

This fascination eventually led to writing two sequels to her favorite Austen work, Pride and Prejudice: “A Woman Worthy” and “Regard and Regulation”.

“I tried to capture the spirit of Jane Austen as much as her unique style of writing. As a result I not only learned a great deal, but took enormous satisfaction from every minute of it.”

Ms. Mackey resides in Iowa with her husband, Bard, where they enjoy motorcycling, camping, and traveling as much as possible. Besides writing, she works as a Teaching Associate in Special Education, filling her free time singing in two community groups and occasionally accepting jobs for free-lance artwork. They have two grown children, James, who lives in Minnesota with his family, and Ian, who’s currently living in Florida. Both are artists in their own right.
